Can massage help to reduce Back Pain?
Back pain can be caused by a variety of factors such as muscle tension, poor posture, and stress. There are many ways to manage your back pain, massage being one of them. In this blog we will look at how massage can help with back pain and some tips for you to choose your massage wisely.

There are many types of massage techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, etc. The basic principles of massage is its ability to relieve muscle tension. Through targeted techniques such as kneading, stroking and stretching, massage helps to relax tight muscles that may be contributing to your back pain. By releasing tension and promoting proper alignment, massage can provide much-needed relief.

Massage also aids to increase blood circulation, which is vital for healing and pain reduction. Increased blood flow to the affected area brings healing nutrients and oxygen, while removing waste products and toxins. This enhanced circulation helps reduce inflammation and promotes healing, thereby promoting homeostasis or balance in the body.

Additionally, massage has been proven to reduce stress and promote relaxation. Chronic stress can exacerbate back pain, as it contributes to muscle tension and overall physical discomfort. By providing a calming and soothing experience, massage helps to release the happy hormones like dopamine, serotonin, endorphins and reduce stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. This promotes reduction in pain, improves mood, eases stress and anxiety. The overall effect is a decrease in muscular and back pain.

It is recommended to go to a trained masseur, especially if you suffer from back pain due to disc issues, spinal stenosis, arthritis or any other similar disorders affecting your spine. While there are various types of massage techniques, a therapist who specializes in addressing back pain will have the knowledge and expertise necessary to target specific muscles and provide effective relief.

You can also incorporate essential oils into your massage for a to provide additional pain relief and relaxation benefits. These are the oils that I use and recommend.

I have been able to reduce my back pain to zero with the 11 day Jumpstart that is a free program, meant specifically for reducing your inflammation and pain. People have seen some amazing results with this wonderful program. It does not involve any pills, meal replacements, just a clean (and easy!) diet, a natural supplement (that you pay for) and exercises (can be increased or reduces to suit your level of physical activity).
