What does Cervical Spondylosis (Neck arthritis) feel like?
Cervical Spondylosis, also known as neck arthritis, is a degenerative condition that affects the neck region. It can occur due to wear and tear or degeneration of the bones cartilage and disc in the neck as we age. It is more commonly seen in people who sit in static postures such as those constantly looking at a computer screen. In this blog we will discuss what  Cervical Spondylosis (Neck arthritis) feel like.

There are 5 typical signs of Cervical Spondylosis:
Firstly you will feel pain and stiffness in the neck which may extend into the shoulders and shoulder blades area. The pain increases with neck movement and decreases with rest and neck stretches. Stiffness in the neck is more pronounced in the morning. It gradually eases with movement and as the day progresses.
 
Secondly you may have popping, cracking or grinding sound in the neck. It is more prominent with movements of the neck.
 
Thirdly if the nerves in the mid to lower cervical spine are involved you can get tingling, numbness, burning or heaviness, ie, nerve pain in the arms, forearms and hand. This may be felt in the shoulder blades also if the lower cervical nerves are involved.  
 
Fourthly, if the nerves in the upper to mid cervical spine are involved you may get cervicogenic headaches. They  usually originate in the back of the neck and gradually move to the back and side of the head. They can sometimes be also felt in the back of the eyes. Headaches may be accompanied by dizziness or nausea.  
 
Fifthly you may feel weakness in the muscles of the arm, forearm, hands or fingers especially if you have had the cervical spondylosis for a little while.

My passion comes from personal experience. I’ve been where you are: in pain, overwhelmed, and exhausted. After two pregnancies in three years, juggling my kids, housework, and a demanding job, I was stuck in a constant cycle of back and nerve pain. The physical load of motherhood added strain to my spine and joints. Meanwhile, adrenal fatigue left me drained, even after 10–12 hours of sleep.

Everyday tasks became a struggle. I was forgetful, foggy, and low on energy. Even as a trained physiotherapist and posture expert, I couldn’t escape my own pain. I kept my pain hidden at work, afraid to speak up. I felt like a fraud, someone who coached others on relief strategies but couldn’t find relief herself. I loved my job and my children, but I couldn’t give 100% to either. Pain was holding me back.

One New Year, I made a resolution: to get healthy, not just fix pain, fatigue, or weight. I focused on reducing inflammation, healing my adrenal fatigue, and reclaiming my energy. Slowly but surely, the pain faded. I lost weight, my brain fog cleared, and my energy skyrocketed. Today, my pain is nearly gone. I feel stronger, clearer, and more in control than I have in years.
