Many of us reach for simple solutions to relieve discomfort, and using a hot pack is one of the most common remedies. But can hot packs truly cure back pain, or do they simply provide temporary relief? Hot packs don’t "cure" back pain, but they are highly effective in providing temporary relief by addressing specific symptoms. Here's how they work:
- Improved Blood Circulation: The heat from a hot pack causes blood vessels to dilate, increasing blood flow to the affected area. This delivers oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, aiding the healing process and flushing out toxins that can contribute to pain.
- Relaxation of Muscles: Heat helps to relax tense and stiff muscles, which is often a significant contributor to back pain. Relaxed muscles reduce pressure on the spine and surrounding nerves.
