As an executive mom, you are no stranger to the tension that builds between meetings, carpool duty and staring at a screen all day. But when these headaches seem to be getting more frequent and more frustrating, you may have tried switching pillows, visiting the chiropractor, or taking pain meds just to get through the day. Yet the headaches keep coming back. Its not that you haven’t tried. It is that no one has shown you a clear, practical way to deal with cervicogenic headaches, the kind that begin with neck stiffness or tension and radiate into your head, sometimes lasting for hours or even days. In this blog let’s break down what’s really going on with your headache and why the usual fixes aren’t enough.
It’s Not Just About Bad Posture:
You have probably been told to sit up straighter, but here’s the truth: cervicogenic headaches are rarely caused by one single thing. They often come from a mix of poor movement habits, sleeping posture, daytime (sitting) posture, overworked muscles, and tension that quietly builds up until your body hits a breaking point.
What You Can Start Doing:
Pay attention to how your head sits over your shoulders throughout the day. Avoid a forward head posture with micro-adjustments, like tucking your chin or setting up your screen 5 to 10 degree below the eye level can take pressure off your neck.

Treating the Pain Doesn’t Solve the Pattern:
Pain relief gels or sprays, massages or even rest might give short-term relief from cervicogenic headaches. But if the deeper movement and muscle imbalance patterns aren’t addressed, the pain will keep returning.
What You Can Start Doing:
Incorporate gentle, daily posture resets into your routine, especially around your upper back and neck. These don’t need to be time-consuming; even 2–3 minutes a few times a day can make a difference.

You are not alone! Many women silently struggle with this. You are not weak, and you are not overreacting. The issue is simply that most advice doesn’t account for real life …. tight schedules, emotional stress, lack of focus, brain fog and the mental load executive moms carry. Be kind to yourself. Seek out support and education that meets you where you are, not something that asks you to overhaul your whole life overnight.
If this feels familiar, and you are tired of cobbling together Google advice, there is a more focused way to feel better. When you are ready, I have created a step-by-step approach that’s easy to follow and works with your daily life.
