Can Golfers Elbow Cause Tingling or Numbness (Nerve Pain) in The  Hand And Fingers?

Golfers Elbow, also known as medial epicondylitis, typically presents as pain on the inside of the elbow, but additional symptoms like numbness in the fingers can be concerning. Golfer’s Elbow occurs when repetitive strain on the muscles and tendons causes inflammation around the elbow joint. You might feel pain when gripping objects, typing on your laptop, or even carrying your child. The pain often radiates down the forearm, making everyday tasks challenging. Treatment for Golfers elbow includes exercises, use of an elbow brace or sleevecold packsergonomic adjustments, etc.



Interestingly, many people with Golfer’s Elbow also experience irritation or compression of the ulnar nerve, which can lead to numbness or tingling in the ring and little fingers. This is because the ulnar nerve runs along the inside of your elbow, and when compressed, it can affect sensation in the hand and fingers. This nerve pain can manifest as tingling, numbness, burning or sharp shooting pain. For busy mums, this could make it even harder to do routine activities like typing, driving or lifting items.

It's also essential to rule out another cause of numbness: cervical radiculopathy. This condition originates from the neck and involves nerve compression, which can radiate down the arm and cause similar symptoms. In some cases, Golfer’s Elbow and nerve compression at the neck can also co-exist.

Slowly but surely, the pain faded. I lost weight, my brain fog cleared, and my energy skyrocketed. Today, my pain is nearly gone. I feel stronger, clearer, and more in control than I have in years.
